Want to learn the basics of HTML and CSS?  Isha Hartono from Provoke Solutions is holding a bootcamp on the basics of Hyper Text Markup Lanugage (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Isha will help you learn about how to build your first webpage.

Bio: Isha Hartono

Isha has been working in the web design industry since 2002 in the educational and commercial sectors. He is passionate about the latest web technologies, good design, semantic clean code and cross-browser/platform independence of web applications.

Database / SQL 101

Want to learn the basics about databases and Structured Query Language. (SQL?)  Francois Marier of Catalyst is running a bootcamp on SQL and databases.  He’ll help you get through the basics of what’s a database to get you to running queries and fancy joins in no time.

Bio: Francois Marier

Francois is a senior software developer for Catalyst IT and a developer
for the Debian GNU/Linux project. Before coming to New Zealand, he
graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada and worked for
Sybase, Amazon.com and two startup companies.

Francois’ main projects at the moment are around Moodle, a web-based
learning management software backed by a database, and the organisation
of LCA 2010, the premier Australasian Open Source technical conference.
