the different ways you can start a ICT business. Dan Lee, Tim Norton,
and John Clegg will provide insights into the different ways that
they funded their companies: YouDo, PlanHQ and ProjectX and share
some learnings of their experiences.

Dan Lee

Dan is a highly energetic, web-savvy, enthusiastic and pragmatic IT
executive with over 10 years of experience in delivering internet
applications.

Dan has proven skills and experience in aligning IT to business
strategy, but also following through with robust and cost-effective
web delivery. Dan is an ITIL qualified manager, and demonstrates
excellence in providing IT services against aggressive service level
agreements and budgets.

Dan has a passion for providing the user with a passionate
experience, backed up with customer support that is second to none.

Dan has previously worked for The Marketplace Company Limited and
LogicaCMG.

Tim Norton

Tim Norton is an experienced web entrepreneur who finds simple
solutions to complex problems.

* 2006 – Founded online business planning business PlanHQ
* 2006 – Acquired Web Design company Gooduse and merged with Decisive
Flow
* 2005 – Founded usability centric web 2.0 design service Decisive Flow
* 2005 – Founded, Self-Funded and lead development of online business
management application evolutionone
* 2004/05 – Secured NZ$1.6 million funds for Energy Intellect from
Government technology grant for next 2 years product development
($3.2 million project)
* 2003/04 – Designed core web product for Energy Intellect iE2 – an
online energy information application. Lead 1st year development,
Developed 3 year+ Product Roadmap
* 2003 – Started own consulting business in global web software
product development Secured first year contract worth $200k with
Energy Intellect
* 2002/03 – Key in securing NZ$11.2 million strategic equity deal for
Energy Intellect after 1 year capital raising effort travelling the US
* 2001/02 – Started Australian subsidiary for Energy Intellect; web
based, energy information service with recurring revenue (later sold
for $4.5 million)

John Clegg

John is the CEO of ProjectX. John is responsible for the strategic,
business and market development of the company.

Previously to ProjectX, he has been involved in a number of start-
ups. He was employee number #2 for BidorBuy.com, which gave lead to
work in Australia, India, Israel, Italy, South Africa and the UK.
